Rooted in faith. Built by God. For the glory of Christ.
Victory Baptist Church is an Independent Fundamental Baptist church. We are conservative in worship and use the KJV Bible. It was started by Pastor Gene Williams in June of 1984.
Pastor Gene was born the 8th of August, 1943 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, USA.
He trusted the Lord Jesus Christ alone as his Savior in February 1967 and surrendered to preach on the 1st of January 1968.
He became the pastor at Lurand Baptist Church in February 1971. In May 1971, he graduated from Mid-South Bible College, which equipped him for ministry. From 1973 to 1982, he served as the pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In April 1983, Pastor Gene responded to God’s call to foreign missions in the Philippines. He left everything he had in the USA to obey God’s call to spread the Gospel of Christ to the people of Baguio City in 1984. God provided His support through his home church and a few Christian friends. By God’s grace, his gospel mission began with one-on-one evangelism along the city streets, distributing gospel tracts, and conducting home Bible studies with the help of like-minded Christians and the support of prayers.
With God’s enablement, Pastor Gene who was faithful in evangelism and the declaration of God’s Word, Victory Baptist Church was established in June 1985 at Padre Burgos Barangay. The Lord added to the flock over the years, prompting relocations within the city. Eventually, God honored the prayers and sacrifices of the congregation with the purchase of this building.
This building symbolizes God’s provision to Pastor Gene’s dedication to preaching the Gospel and the Word of God without apology. God faithfully used him as the pastor from 1984 to 2004. Due to declining health, he retired but continued to preach by invitation at many churches in the USA during his last years.
God called him to glory on August 1, 2018.
In honor of his Christian legacy, this building was named Williams Worship Hall and was dedicated on the 23rd of June 2024 to commemorate God’s faithfulness to a life that glorified Him with trust and obedience.
It also signifies God’s call to Victory Baptist Church Saints to a continuing commitment to proclaim the Gospel of Christ and uphold the sole authority of the Bible throughout their lives, guided by the Holy Spirit until they are called to glory!
